REGULARS at a Todmorden pub took time out from their pints to raise money for a cancer charity.
Drinkers in the Wellington pub, on Halifax Road, raised £50 for Manchester's Christie Hospital and its research centre in Chelmsford.
The regulars took part in a bonus ball competition with the chance to win a bottle of champagne.
A few eyebrows were raised however when the pub's landlord Shaun Murray walked off with the bubbly.
Any doubts were soon dispelled after Shaun said he would donate the bottle to the family of a regular who had recently died.
Shaun said: "I decided to give it to the family of Kenneth Playstaff so they could use it at the funeral."
Shaun said that the event was a great success and that he would be happy to raise money for any other charity.
"They're a good bunch in here and they'd be willing to put their hands in their pockets again."
Shaun Murray can be contacted at the pub on 01706 812298.
