THE 18 year old Blackburn girl accused of murdering her lover has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Louise Berry is charged that between August 6 and September 13 she wrote to Rita Wrigley attempting to persuade her to the speak to John Hollern to persuade him to withdraw the allegation against her.
Berry is awaiting trial at Preston Crown Court on a charge of murdering Mandy Barton, 30, at her home in Moor Gate Street, Mill Hill, on Sunday August 11.
She is also charged with assaulting Mr Hollern in an earlier incident.
She was sent in custody on the latest charge.
Mandy Barton, a mother of two, was found at her home with severe head injuries and died in hospital three days later.
