REGARDING the proposed community centre at Brockhall Village (LET, September 4), having spent many of my formative years on the estate at Brockhall Hospital, in my opinion, one of the biggest acts of vandalism was to demolish the picture house/ballroom with its stage and marvellous sprung floor, which was one of the best in the north of England.
Surely, with a little forethought, this building could have been retained and renovated into a splendid state-of-the-art community centre.
Carry on with the good work, Ribble Valley Council.
