NEW electoral boundaries for county council elections in Pendle could split voters in Barrowford.
Currently residents in the town are represented at county hall by Colne councillor Tim Ormrod.
If the revised wards are accepted, people living in the Carr Hall area will now vote for a councillor in a different division.
A council spokesman said: "It is a necessary exercise, but we feel very much that Carr Hall has an affinity with Barrowford.
"I think it could be confusing for voters. This is the first time they have altered since 1974. The aim of the exercise is to ensure that equal numbers of voters are represented in each of the six Pendle wards.
The proposals are set to be discussed at a meeting of Pendle Borough Council's Executive Committee at Nelson Town Hall tomorrow.
