RAMSBOTTOM, who had a man sent off in the first game, could not get past ten men Witton in the first qualifying round replay of the FA Cup.
Despite bringing Witton back to the Riverside it was the visitors who went home £7,500 richer after their victory.
The visitors immediately put Ramsbottom under early pressure with Mike Moseley volleying over Simon Marsh's goal and went ahead when Moseley gave the keeper no chance with a powerful drive after rounding two defenders.
Lomax fired in a good strike that flew a yard wide and then Moseley put Witton two in front with a header on 38 minutes.
Almost immediately Witton's Carl Rendell was sent off after striking Brierley.
Unmarked David Yorke-Robinson then wasted a gilt-edged chance from just eight yards out before the interval but the Rams got back into the game on 54 minutes with Lomax cracking in a terrific shot after cutting in from the left.
Marsh had to be at his best to keep out Witton while Yorke-Robinson's first-time shot was inches away from an equaliser.
Then a bad mistake by Mark Brown presented Witton with a third goal through Simon Burton.
Ramsbottom refused to lie down, Lomax got his second of the night with another great strike to set up an exciting final eight minutes. Both sides went close but in the end Witton deservedly went through.
