IT may have been close but we managed to maintain our unbeaten run against Millwall in midweek.
Now we have to stretch that run to six games when we face a Battle of the Roses at Bradford on Saturday.
When we started the season so poorly it seemed that no matter what we did we could not help but lose. Hopefully that is now going the other way because we did not play anywhere near our best on Tuesday night but still got a point.
On a personal level, I certainly enjoyed our last trip to Valley Parade in what was one of our best performances in the whole of last season. Mind you, having scored a couple of goals - I would say that wouldn't I.
Bradford had just come down from the Premiership, they had a strong side that was tipped to push for promotion but we beat them 3-2 with all the goals coming in the second half.
It was Tony Ellis who scored the winner, his only goal for the Clarets and all five of the goals came in a breathless second half.
Of course at the time we were flying high at the top of the table, a bit like Portsmouth are at the moment.
One player who will be desperate to be in the starting line-up at the weekend is Robbie Blake, a former favourite with the Bradford fans but it is anyone's guess as to who the gaffer will play up front.
Everyone was delighted for Dimi getting his first League goal the weekend and then Mooro got off the mark for the season with the late equaliser against Millwall.
But they are just two of the five front men desperate to play. Gareth was top scorer last season but he has been really unlucky so far this time around. He has hit the woodwork three times already and it is hopefully only a matter of time before he starts hitting the back of the net.
Then there is Robbie. Mooro may have got the goal on Tuesday night but he knows it had a lot to do with Robbie's approach play, a lovely turn with a little ball that Dimi stepped over and suddenly Mooro was clear.
And no one should forget Payts. He has not been in the starting line-up yet this season but he would love to get the chance to prove he can still do what he has done all his career - scoring goals.
In terms of strike rate last season was the best of my career as I got into double figures in all competitions for the first time. I had thought I'd at last got off the mark this campaign when my shot was cleared from just in front of the line.
After the goal drought at the start of the season we have now scored nine goals in our last four games and it is that sort of strike rate we need.
We have seen both Arthur and Mooro celebrate scoring by ripping off their shirts and puffing out their chests. If I could score at the weekend I don't think I will do the same thing.
Mind you, if Diego Forlan can end his goal famine of 27 games, and even Westy has got on the scoresheet for us, perhaps it is time I got back on the goal trail.
Another brace against the Bantams would suit me just fine.
