DETECTIVES investigating an axe attack which left a man in hospital with a fractured skull want to speak to a woman seen by other witnesses close to Colne Sports Centre in Albert Road in the early hours of Monday.
Warren Manley, 24, was admitted to Burnley General after the assault. His condition is described as stable.
A Colne CID spokesman said: "A woman close to the taxi rank may have seen the whole incident. It is vital she comes forward."
A 22-year-old man was remanded by Burnley Magistrates yesterday. He will appear at Burnley Crown Court on Tuesday. Anyone with information can call Colne CID on 01254 425001.
