BIDS from Atherton-based charities and other community organisations are welcomed by Atherton Festival Committee who want more volunteers to boost festival fortunes.
The organisers are grateful to everyone who supported the successful 2001 Festival but need helpers if the event is to thrive.
"It was a success due to the support of the local community," said one of the organisers.
"However it was run on a much smaller scale this year due to too few people being involved with organising events and consequently less money is available to put back into the community.
"For the Festival to continue as it has done in previous years we would again like people to assist in the organisation."
The closing date for applications is October 28. They should be sent to the Festival Committee, c/o Atherton Library, York St., Atherton M46 9JH. These will then be considered at a November committee meeting.
Volunteers should contact Joyce Peat/Marlene Chadwick at Atherton Library, tel. 01942 404815.
