A MAN was robbed of cash and a pendant at knifepoint as he walked along a busy cycle track in central Lancaster on Friday morning.
The 25-year-old victim was walking along the path behind St George's Quay when he was approached by two other men.
One of them asked for a light for his cigarette and, when this was given, his accomplice pulled the knife and demanded money.
When the victim pulled out his wallet, it was grabbed by the man, who also snatched the victim's gold chain from around his neck.
The robber then set off up the stairs towards the Priory and Lancaster Castle.
They struck at between 11am and 11.16am on Friday morning, and took £56 in cash as well as a blue nylon, Adidas wallet, personal cards and the gold chain with a pendant, worth a total of £123.
The first robber is described as approximately 20 years old, 5ft 6in tall clean-shaven with dark, ginger coloured hair, shaved at the back and sides and swept forward.
He wore a green, long sleeved, tracksuit type top with a zip up the front and green trousers, which may possibly have been part of the tracksuit.
The second man is described as white, around 25 years old, of unshaven appearance with short, dark brown hair, wearing a light blue bobble cap with a teardrop shaped tattoo beneath his left eye.
He wore a short sleeved, red teeshirt with a round collar and dark coloured trousers.
