HRH The Princess Royal attended the Townswomen's Guilds Countryside Conference at Lancaster University on Tuesday.
The Princess, patron of the organisation, presented an opening speech and addressed the Townswomen audience.
Townswomen's Guilds, one of Britain's leading women' s groups, has developed into a 65,000 strong national organisation involved with local, national and global concerns.
The members meet regularly, to develop new skills, exchange ideas, discuss topical debates and organise charitable and educational events nationwide.
