rSHELTERED accommodation in Leigh will benefit from a £1,000 donation from the Leigh Freemasons.
The cheque was awarded to the Abbeyfield Society -- founded as a Christian concern for the elderly -- who plan to use it towards improvements to their houses for the elderly in Bond Street, Leigh.
The society's purpose is to provide the elderly with their own homes within the security and companionship of small households, which can become focal points for goodwill and friendly contact within the community.
