BREWERS are banking on success with the launch of Bury's latest town centre watering hole.
Occupying the former Lloyds Bank building at the corner of Market Place and Bolton Street, Wyldes has opened following a £1 million restoration that took a year to complete.
The name of the pub was selected from replies to a competition in the Bury Times, the eventual choice reflecting its close proximity to The Wylde.
The first pint was officially pulled by Joseph Holt chairman David Tully, ahead of the public opening.
Mr Richard Kershaw, chief executive of Joseph Holt Ltd, said: "We were keen on having a young image but also one connected with the local area.
"We are delighted with the Bury site which will be a very nice venue at the centre of what is a very popular drinking circuit."
