CHEER was spread among pupils at Radcliffe County Infant School when a hot air balloon with a difference came to visit their breakfast club.
The 150ft representation of Lurpak TV commercial character Douglas filled the sky around the Coronation Road school as it was inflated on the playing field on Tuesday morning (Sept 17).
Due to airport restrictions the balloon could not take off in full flight, but there was a chance for youngsters to enjoy a ride with the basket tethered to the ground.
The visit was part of a campaign to promote breakfast as the most important meal of the day by makers of the butter.
Children were treated to bacon butties, as well as soft toys, T-shirts and other goodies as a lasting reminder of the visit.
Head teacher Chris Heald said: "It was a 150ft science lesson, and very exciting for the children.
"If you ever needed to be reminded that hot air rises then you only needed to be there.
"These are the sort of things that children remember, it was lovely."
