THE Christmas tree light fittings have now been provided above the shops in Rosegrove Centre.
There will be five trees on each of the following row of shops: Owen Street-Baker Design; Sunderland Street-Bookshop; opposite Dr Doolittle-Edward Paul's; opposite Rosegrove Carpets and Hargreaves Bakery.
The Christmas tree lights will be officially switched on hopefully on Wednesday, November 20.
CONGRATULATIONS to Lowerhouse Bowling Club on winning the Midweek Bowling League Cup Competition last Sunday at Briercliffe Bowling Green.
The team celebrated victory by only two points against St Andrews B team.
A good day's bowling was enjoyed by all the spectators and there was some nailbiting finishes in all the matches.
This is the second final that they have reached, they lost the Tuesday Afternoon Bowling League Knockout to Greenhill Bowling Club.
LOCAL Rosegrove resident Brian Smith recently won the veterans' competition at Ighten Mount Bowling Club and keeps the trophy for 12 months.
Brian and his wife Barbara were runners-up in the Padiham Mixed Pairs Competition in which there were 28 teams. Brian is also a team player of Lowerhouse Bowling Club.
PC LINDA Haywood is still looking for volunteers to help her get a football team for the youngsters of Rosegrove and Lowerhouse. The youngsters need something to do and this would keep them from causing residents a nuisance which some of them are being accused of.
