BLACKPOOL teenager Sally Wilson will be building international links when she jets out to Poland this month as a youth volunteer.
Sally, 18, of Warbreck, will spend a year promoting computer and internet use as well as helping the locals with their English. She also hopes to learn Polish.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for me," said Sally whose destination is Bystrzyca Klodzka, a lower mountain town in the south east corner of the country close to the German and Czech borders. The region was handed back to Poland after the second world war.
Sally has already made two short trips to Poland for an international youth conference and as part of an international studies group.
"I am really looking forward to the challenge and to being in a completely different culture as well as being independent," she said.
She added: "I wouldn't have had the opportunity if I hadn't got involved with the youth service and I'd say to anyone who would like to have chances like this to get involved by either going down to your youth club or by finding out what is on for you in the town."
Among her roles will be encouraging use of the internet and helping to improve English.
