PRESTWICH put the finishing gloss on a successful season by polishing off Denton St Lawrence (DSL) by five wickets.
The visitors, who are Prestwich's bogey side on their home ground, could only set a target of 118 which was easily attained by the homesters to cement third place in the Lancashire County League.
Chris Humphreys capped a marvellous season with 3 for 33, taking his season's tally to 74 wickets, and that with around a dozen games missed through injury or bad weather.
He grabbed one of the important DSL wickets as skipper Phil Sutcliffe got a thin inside edge onto his stumps for 17.
When pro Damian Stringer dared to take a run to whippet-like Carl Hey, and was run out also for 17, the writing was on the scorecard.
Andy Bradley bowled a measly spell of 1 for 10 in eight overs, grabbing a deserved wicket with the assistance of a marvellous stumping from Ian Walker.
Goodall hit a robust 32, but Andy Taylor proved his undoing as one of his two scalps. He finished the season with a commendable 53 wickets to his name.
Craig Duxbury also got in the act to pick up three late wickets.
Hey and Duxbury then rattled up an opening stand of 59, with Hey in fluent form with some striking on-drives and cover drives in his 36.
Duxbury bided his time before opening up and hitting a fine 60 before being bowled with just a few runs needed for victory.
Walker, Gareth Barnes, and Paul Mercer all went cheaply, but there was no panic as the opening bowling duo of Humphreys and Taylor brought the curtain down on the season by chalking up the winning runs.
Prestwich CC have won the Aggregate Trophy of the Lancashire County League.
This is the total number of league points achieved by the first and second teams and the accolade adds to their Walkden Cup and Hulme Cup successes.
