SHOPPERS are being urged to support a Staffordshire Pot Fair to help make traders' wishes for a permanent outdoor market in Blackburn come true.
The Church Street event is the first pot fair in the town centre since the 1960s. It follows the success of a French-theme market on the newly pedestrianised road.
Last week the market tenants' association called for the extra stalls to be a regular occurrence as they attract more shoppers to the Salford end of town.
And the council is reviewing the success of the schemes before deciding whether to implement them more regularly.
The fair will go on until 5.30pm today.
