REGARDING your report (LET, September 5) and comments by the families of some of the deceased buried in St Leonard's graveyard in Padiham about plastic danger-warning bags being placed on unsafe gravestones, while I very much sympathise with the bereaved relatives I disagree with the remark that it is a sign of utter disrespect for people's graves.
In 1983, my wife's seven-year-old daughter was playing with her friends in a graveyard in Church, Accrington, when she was killed by a gravestone which fell on her.
Just maybe, had yellow plastic bags been placed on unsafe stones, then they may have been taken as a warning and she might still be alive today.
