Sanjay Gupta has hit back after his film Kaante remains off our screens.
The film ran into trouble when the star and co-producer of the movie Sanjay Dutt was taped in a conversation with underworld don Chhota Shakeel.
Gupta has said the film has been postponed to early October because he was waiting for special effects for his Bollywood version of Reservoir Dogs and not because of ongoing investigations.
"When we announced Kaante, they said this film will never get launched. When it was launched, they said it would never get made.
"When I was shooting the film in Los Angles, they said the film can never complete its schedule specially after September 11 happened in the middle of the schedule.
"Even then, they predicted Kaante would never be released. Now the same people are saying the film is getting delayed and would never be released."
Even with certain newspapers trying to give away the ending, Gupta has said that the film will benefit from all the publicity.
"There's a huge conspiracy against Kaante. One journalist from an afternoon paper in Mumbai has carried on a relentless campaign against the film."
