Preston's Mela is back on and will take place indoors in the City's Guild Hall.
Council bosses and festival organisers have brushed aside the disappointment of cancelling the event because of heavy rain, which was due to be held in Avenham Park on August 4.
Now the Mela is being held indoors on Sunday, September 22, between 2pm and 10pm.
Councillor Veronica Afrin, executive member for regeneration community and leisure said, "It's fantastic -- the Mela's back on so come on down to the Guild Hall. We've pulled out all the stops and will work extra hard to put on a great event. It was such a blow to cancel the event but now we've really got something to look forward to."
Vali Patel, chairman of Preston Mela steering committee added, "We're very pleased. The committee and the council have made huge efforts to get the celebration back on and we're so happy the event is now going ahead. There'll be lots for people to see and do on September 22 and while it'll be a bit strange being indoors, the Guild Hall is such a great venue that it'll be a very special celebration."
