REGARDING the proposals for the closure of Lancashire County Council care homes, the initial roll of shame for members should commence with the eight cabinet members who, on September 12, unanimously agreed that the 'visionary' views of executive member for Social Services County Councillor Chris Cheetham, be presented for approval by the full council.
The remaining county councillors, who claim they care, should stand up for the people who are growing old, open their eyes and listen to the objectors and reject these proposals on Thursday.
Remember, the Government is not saying "you must adopt the new standards or close the homes."
It is now down to you!
If the proposals are accepted at the next elections, we should all remember the names of the county councillors who let Lancashire down.
BETTY SPENCER, Sycamore Close, Rishton.
