CHART-TOPPING singer Jenny Frost is purring with delight at the launch of her group's new book.
As one third of Atomic Kitten, who went straight to number one with their latest single The Tide is High, Jenny talks frankly about her rise to stardom in So Good, So Far (£7.99 Carlton Books).
The 24-year-old former St Monica's RC High School pupil reveals how her schooldays made her what she is today.
She states: "Every school report I had said I had a problem with authority. . . I used to say, 'I haven't got a problem with authority, I just don't like being told what to do!' I don't think the teachers disliked me, though, it was just that I had problems concentrating and too much energy!"
Jenny said that looking back it probably would have been a good idea to listen a bit more but added: "Everything happens for a reason. What happened in my schooldays has made me the person I am today so I wouldn't change a thing."
Jenny's parents used to run The Grapes pub in Bury New Road, Prestwich, and she said her childhood, with elder sister Shelley, was something she wouldn't change.
"Christmases were always a lot of fun in our house," said Jenny, who plans to marry her DJ boyfriend Dom next year. "Living in a pub, mum and dad had always had a big night celebrating with the locals on Christmas Eve."
The book, by music journalist Ian McLeish, delves further into each band member's childhood, love life and documents the story of the Kittens so far.
