A NEW service for parents or carers of children with autism is being launched in Burnley this week.
Action for ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders) is holding an official launch of its services on Saturday. The group received a grant of £279,695 Community Fund grant in June 2001 to provide a range of services to anyone living and working with autism in the Lancashire region.
The group will now run support services from its offices in Billington Road. A spokesman for the group said: "Action for ASD is very proud of its achievements over the past year and the opening is a perfect opportunity for families to get together and celebrate its success."
They hope to have author Luke Jackson present at the launch to talk about his book, "Freaks, Geeks and Asperger Syndrome" which gives an insight into living with the condition.
