A SPORTS programme run for children in the September holidays has been hailed as a great success.
For a two week period in the Bradley, Brierfield and Whitefield areas of Pendle kids got the opportunity to participate free of charge in a variety of different sporting activities with fully qualified coaches within their community on playing fields and parks regardless of their own ability level.
Donna Stott -- co-ordinator of Pendle Active Communities said: "The programme was successful in bringing together the young people in the communities, community volunteers and qualified multi sports coaches to offer a variety of coached sporting opportunities throughout the September holiday period."
The programme was aimed at providing children aged 8-12 years with activities, and sports included in the September programme were tennis, cricket, football, hockey, netball, basketball, and rounders.
The sports programme was the first of its kind within the Pendle borough.
