AN English Civil War battle is set to take place this weekend at Hoghton Tower.
Battle re-enactors the Sealed Knot will recreate the battle of Preston in their final and biggest event of the year.
Over the years the society has become famed for its activities including TV and film appearances and as an educational charity Sealed Knot is committed to making seventeenth century history accessible to a wide audience.
The main battles at the weekend are scheduled for 3pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday but other activities will begin from 11am.
Both days will feature drill displays with musket, pike, artillery and cavalry as well as 17th century fayre and children's games.
Adult entry is £5 and children's tickets cost £2.50.
