BLACKBURN Hawks rattled in 20 goals and experienced mixed fortunes as they began their league season with a 'double-header' weekend.
Once again, the Kingston Jets 'bogey' shot down the Hawks by 6-5.
For after outplaying - and leading - their hosts for all but the last 90 seconds of the opening match, the Hawks blundered, gifting two crucial goals to lose the match 6-5.
"We just don't seem to be able to lay the Kingston ghost and win at their place," said a bitterly disappointed Hawks' coach Bobby Haig.
"I'm gutted as we played really well and then threw it away at the death. "
Eddie Cooper grabbed a brace, Chris Black, Craig Sharman and Brunton got the others before the high-flying Jets hit back.
Twenty-four hours later, it was a different story as the Hawks took full advantage of home territory, thrashing Bradford 15-0.
The first period ended at 3-0 to the Hawks, then the hosts cut loose and ripped the Yorkshire resistance to shreds.
Michael Brunton scored a hat-trick, Chris Black, Craig Sharman and Haig each scored two and Wes Barnett, Scott Barnett, Peter Norgate and Wayne Slater got the rest.
