AGE Concern is urging old people to gear up for the cold weather by offering free information packs and an advice day on how to stave off the winter blues.
The charity will hold the special information event on Wednesday October 2 at the New Keirby Hotel, Keirby Walk, Burnley and will include a prize draw with kettles and electric blankets to be won.
The Winter Information packs will be available from September 28 from the charity's office at 24 Keirby Walk or at the information event.
Geraldine Moore, chief officer for Age Concern Lancashire, said: "Cold weather can have a devastating effect on the health and well being of older people."
