LEIGH Miners 'A' should have had a comfortable win over Ashton but five late tries left them sweating.
The Miners led 8-4 at half time with tries from Patterson and Robinson. They added to their tally with second half touchdowns from Newton, Webster, Mort and Morris (2) with conversions from Thompson (3) and Morris.
Defensive lapses late on let Ashton in for five tries to close the winning margin to 36-30.
