LEIGH Harriers had a golden day at Stockport on Saturday.
Competing in the NW Counties Road Relay Championship, the Leigh team won the three county titles, one team silver and a team bronze.
The U13s girls team of Hannah Warburton, Andrea Kay and Lauran Howarth won the Greater Manchester Road Race title.
The U17s team won the championship for a third successive year. Amanda Fearnley, with her best run of the season, gave Leigh the lead on the first leg and with Lizzy Heaton and Adele Swanton having impressive runs, the Leigh team was never headed.
Leigh's third gold of the day came from the boys U15s team of Tom Henders, Richard Stewart and Mike Goddard.
Leigh's silver medal went to the girls U15s team of Rebecca Howarth, Louise Boardman and Gema Farley.
'B' team runners Kellie Thornton and Abi Baxendale both gave good accounts of themselves.
The U17s men's team won the county bronze medal. Sam Cooke, Andy Edwards and Alex Urmston all ran well. New recruit Tash Gallagher ran a good leg in the 'B' team.
