THE history of Haigh Hall was highlighted by Carol Banks when she spoke to members of Tyldesley Probus Club.
She explained how a manor house was first built on the site in the 16th century. Then in the 1800s the present hall was built over a 20 year period and the manor house demolished. Wigan Council took over Haigh Hall in 1947.
Gordon Cooke will describe ocean cruising with P & O at the October 3 meeting.
