HUNDREDS of homes are to receive a test flood warning from the Environment Agency -- to ensure warning systems work correctly.
The Bedford and Lilford areas of Leigh are two of the seven flood warning areas which will have their communication links tested. Warnings are issued through an Automatic Voice Messaging (AVM) system that sends a telephone message to alert at risk householders.
The Environment Agency's Floodline number is 0845 988 1188.
