HIGH school pupils will put Education Minister Estelle Morris on the spot on Monday.
Westleigh and Hindley's sharpest young politicians have been given the chance to quiz senior ministers at a fringe meeting at the Labour Party Conference in Blackpool.
They are two of only three schools invited to take part in the meeting organised by the charity, Save The Children, and will be asking questions on evaluation, health and third world development issues.
Westleigh will be represented by the school council, which has already put Leigh MP Andy Burnham under the microscope, and their head boy and girl.
The school was selected because of the successful work which has raised thousands of pounds for the charity over the past few years.
Head teacher, John Pout, said: "The School Council is superb, representing the pupils at school very well. Within school it organises discos, trips and visits and with the proceeds has bought tables and benches. More recently it has redesigned the students' planner, re-written the Student Code of Conduct and is now leading an anti-bullying drive.
'I am sure representatives will ask searching, detailed and thoughtful questions."
