A CYNICAL Leyther says the recent Journal feature on the historic Fleet Street of Leigh -- Railway Road -- was great, apart from a few relevant bits that were left out!
He says these include the bicycles that are ridden on the wobbly pavements, the gargoyles who sit on the college steps downing cans of beer, the pushers who use the ginnels behind the street to conduct their business and the fresh water bird bath at the car park end of Eyet Street.
You've forgotten all the litter and parking problems, Tom.
Certainly a century has changed the once high status road through to Leigh's first railway station -- and obviously not for the better. Sadly the decline is a sign of less respectful times.
