I APPRECIATE the suggestion by Kenneth Atkinson (Letters, August 28) that people queuing for buses need seats and also his reference to the kindness of the young man involve in the incident he mentioned.
Immediate steps should be taken to fit strip seating in all bus shelters in our town. Some are already equipped with a simple free-standing seat. Why not all shelters? They could be easily fitted in existing shelters.
These would provide a much-needed chance to rest ourselves while we wait for our bus, which, in the case of the Preston Old Road route is 30 minutes.
