A TASTY recipe for community friendship has been cooked up in Bury.
Elderly residents are attending new luncheon clubs, the first to be run by Bury Council.
The first meetings took place in Bury at Griffin House and Falcon House. These will now run weekly, and are open to all old folk in the area.
Town bosses are trying to start similar schemes elsewhere in the borough.
The idea is not only to provide a hot meal but give people a chance to get out and meet others, and also become a focal point to find out about services.
Elderly people living nearby the housing schemes who want to join should phone David Latham on 761 3725.
