IT was just the job for hundreds of local employment seekers when Bury staged a special event to fill more than 300 vacancies.
The Jobs Fair was held in Bury Town Hall and attracted representatives from many local companies offering temporary seasonal and some permanent jobs.
The event, which was organised by Jobcentre Plus, was opened by Bury's mayor and mayoress, councillors John and Stella Smith.
And the fair catered for the wider jobs market, from people looking to earn some extra cash over the festive period to those seeking a longer term career move.
More than 22 employers were represented at the Jobs Fair. They included Village Hotels, Argos, the Army, Bury Council, B&Q, Marks and Spencer, Boots and Dixon. Visitors were also able to gain information on New Deal lone parent and 50-plus advice.
