THE new owners of the Longfield Centre in Prestwich are to work with Bury Council on sprucing up the shopping precinct's image.
As reported in the Bury Times, Crestwave Investment Ltd purchased the precinct from Edinburgh Home Estates in the summer for an undisclosed sum.
The consortium of businessmen who make up Crestwave Investment Ltd will be represented by Manchester-based Lopian Wagner Solicitors. They will lead negotiations on their behalf with Bury Council "with respect to the redevelopment and improvement of the site".
It is understood that the new owners intend to make long-awaited improvements to the shopping units which will enhance work already done by Bury Council to the car park and future planned work to the Longfield Centre walkways.
Head of the solicitors' commercial property department, Michael Lopian said: "This site has long been the unofficial centre of Prestwich village and both the developers and the Council are co-operating in a plan to return Longfield Shopping Centre to its former glory."
