AN ex-soldier suffering post traumatic stress disorder after being sent to war attacked two police officers.
Burnley Magistrates heard how Shaun Smith, 31, had been in and out of various psychiatric institutions and had recently been in Burnley General Hospital for several months.
He has now be en discharged from hospital, but regrettably had been left to fend for himself, the court was told.
Smith, of Wavell Avenue, Burnley, admitted damage and two counts of police assault. He was bailed until October 18, for a pre-sentence report and the bench said all options would be open.
