GIVEN the fact that Bury's social services budget is in the red by £800,000 (Bury Times, Sept 13) and that, three months into the financial year, the council were aware enough of this to earmark £1 million from the reserves to help balance the budget, was it therefore sensible to go to the High Court recently in an attempt to defeat the old folks' CARE group?
Barristers don't come cheap. So what was the final bill for the High Court case? Will we ever know?
