DONS boss Stuart Murdoch admitted this week: "Our position in the table reflects our season - middling."
And with the move to Milton Keynes now only three months away he is hoping that position will improve in order to encourage new fans to follow them.
The off the field struggles of the South London club have been well documented and as they prepare to visit Turf Moor tomorrow they are facing a number of problems on the pitch, especially at the back.
Three of his full-backs picked up knocks in the 1-0 defeat at home to Coventry City on Saturday, and they have been undergoing intensive treatment all week in the hope of making the trip north.
Right back Peter Hawkins was withdrawn at half-time against the Sky Blues after sustaining a thigh strain, while his replacement, Darren Holloway, injured his hip during the second half.
To compound Murdoch's problems Jermaine Darlington, who is the only other full-back to have featured so far in their campaign, is struggling with a knee problem.
If all three fail to recover, Murdoch's options are going to be severely limited. Mikele Leigertwood has featured on the right of a three-man defence this season, but the only fully-fit recognised full-back at the club is Duncan Jupp.
He has not played a first-team game since January when he featured in a 2-1 defeat at Walsall, his only match of last season.
But whoever does line up for the Dons at the back, Clarets assistant manager Sam Ellis is expecting another tough test.
"They have got some good players, particularly in the forward areas and we know that every game in this division is tough," he said.
