GOVERNMENT minister Ivan Lewis will open the new Lancaster and Morecambe College Art and Design building on October 4.
The building, constructed last year to house staff and students formerly based at the White Cross, will hold such facilities as a textiles studio and a print making studio.
Jane Campey, Head of the College's School of Art and Design, said: "We're delighted to have Ivan Lewis formally opening our building.
The students now have an ideal creative environment to realise their true potential."
Mr Lewis will arrive at midday after which he will tour the building and meet the students.
