THE father of tragic Galgate girl, Jade Slack, will not face charges as part of an investigation into the supply of drugs.
Local milkman, Simon Slack, had been arrested in August, less than a month after his ten-year-old daughter died after swallowing Ecstasy.
A 17-year-old girl who was questioned following the death will also face no charges, though a 20 year old man and a woman of the same age have had their police bail extended until October 20.
Mr Slack's wife, Beverley, said: "He wasn't arrested in connection to Jade's death.
"He should never have been arrested in the first place because it was all false accusations.
Mrs Slack said she was unhappy about how her husband's arrest came to be public knowledge, adding: "We have gone through hell.
"It was bad enough to lose Jade, having to deal with this has just made it even worse."
Mr Slack was due to answer bail last week, but police announced that they would not be charging him.
Officers said at the time that they were releasing Mr Slack's name because of the extraordinary amount of interest in the case.
Det Supt Ian Jones said: "Following the death of Jade Slack, police carried out a thorough investigation, not only into the immediate circumstances of her death but also drugs activity in the local community as a whole.
"I can confirm that thorough investigations have been made concerning any possible involvement by Mr Slack in illegal drugs activity.
"As a result of these investigations it has been established that there is no evidence whatsoever to connect Mr Slack in any way to his daughter's death or indeed to any involvement in illegal drugs activity."
