LANCASTER City came from behind against Hyde United to claim a well-deserved injury time victory.

City recovered from the blow of losing 'keeper Mark Thornley and, with experienced striker Phil Brown taking over, the Dolly Blues came from behind to claim three points.

An early goal from Steve Foster put Hyde ahead and the home side seemed to be on top until Thornley's injury at half time.

Within three minutes of the restart, however, City were on level terms thanks to an Andy Whittaker strike.

Chris Perkins then gave the Dolly Blues the lead with a deceptive shot from the edge of the area.

However, Hyde got back on terms when Brown's only moment of hesitation in the game allowed Lee Evans to head home.

But it was to be Lancaster's night, with Brian Welch scoring an injury time winner with a subtle chip over the home keeper.

Old boy Dean Martin had a happy return to Giant Axe on Saturday as his Bradford Park Avenue side took three points after City were hit with a double sending off blow.

It all started so well for the Doll Blues when Chris Bennett, making his full debut, charged into the area before cutting the ball across for the prolific Andy Whittaker to score.

However, Bradford were back on level terms within 10 minutes when Andy Hayward headed home and, with half time approaching, Rory Prendergast scored from distance.

City fought back and Martin gave them a helping hand on 67 minutes when he brought down Bennett in the area, allowing Whittaker to step up and score the equaliser from the spot.

Fve minutes later, City's hopes were in tatters.

Firstly, Michael Yates was sent off for what appeared to be an innocuous push on Prendergast.

In the arguments that followed Fensome was shown red, leaving City clinging to a point instead of chasing three.

Their resistance ended on 85 mins when Hayward grabbed a second in 85 minutes.

Final score: Hyde United 2, Lancaster City 3.
