PEOPLE are invited to go back in time to the 19th century when they visit Rossendale Museum.
The museum is taking people back to the cotton industry days where it is hosting a unique collection of silverware which belonged to the successful Whitehead family.
Peter, David and Thomas Whitehead were the driving force behind the Rawtenstall cotton industry which they started in the town in 1815.
Heading the town's three biggest mills, Lower Mill, Higher Mill and the Ilex Mill was the one thing that kept all the family in Rawtenstall.
Now decades later, Peter Whitehead's great grandson, Derek, who lives in North Wales has donated a pristine silver cigarette box which was a family heirloom.
