NOT so much a concert, more a friend dropping in for a chat.
Pete McCarthy came to Burnley last night and shared a thoroughly enjoyable evening with a good sized audience, regaling them with some of his tales of travel and readings from his two best-selling books McCarthy's Bar and The Road to McCarthy.
McCarthy is an excellent raconteur with a wry sense of humour and a great eye for detail.
As someone who has spent a lot of his time chatting to people in pubs and bars around the world and with his background as a stand-up comedian, McCarthy is an affable companion for an evening.
He clearly enjoyed his first visit to the Mechanics, staying behind afterwards to sign books and chat.
If he comes again, go along and see him, you'll enjoy the experience.
