UNDER-FIRE Ramsbottom boss Mike Kelly has called on the fans to get behind his bottom-of-the-table team.
Kelly says he feels no pressure as he attempts to reverse his side's fortunes.
But he has come in for some criticism from sections of the Rams fans as his side has lost six of the last seven games - and all four of the last four league games.
They went to the bottom of the league in midweek when they lost 1-0 at home to Abbey Hey, but Kelly felt his side deserved more from the game and do not deserve their bottom-of-the-league status.
"I can't put my finger on what is wrong," he said. "We are playing well enough to win, we are just not scoring.
"We pinned them back but we just can't get on the end of anything in the box but we are creating enough chances."
Ramsbottom have, in Russell Brierley, one of the NWCL's most prolific marksmen over the past few years but Kelly says even he isn't performing.
"He isn't, Carl Lomax up front isn't either but the chances are falling to everyone in the team and nobody is putting them away.
"The midfielders are getting as many chances as the forwards.
"The only player playing really well is the goalkeeper Simon Marsh. I feel sorry for him because his performances don't deserve these results. I'm thinking of playing him up front!
"Seriously, though, we are bottom of the table, that's the reality, we were bottom even before Tuesday's game and three points would have changed that.
"But at the moment it is not happening, we just need a lucky goal or a bit of magic.
"We just have to keep plugging away, I'm confident enough that it will come.
"I don't feel under any pressure, obviously I listen to sly comments from the crowd, that's always going to happen but people have got to get behind the team.
"Confidence is low and the players are feeling the pressure. It is not pressure from me, they are bringing it on themselves.
"And the crowd don't help but I understand their frustration because they pay their money, they're entitled to an opinion.
"You have to bite your lip and get on with it but we need to turn the corner, sooner rather than later."
After just six games, Ramsbottom can still turn things around in the league, and Kelly is eyeing one of the cups as a chance to pick up some silverware.
"There are one or two cups we can have a go at but even in the league everyone is beating everyone else.
"I think the league is a lot tougher this year, all the teams have improved - we have improved.
"And we are still confident we can turn it around, I am not panicking.
"I am not going to make rash changes because we have played well enough to get results, we just haven't got them.
"But in football, results are everything."
