PAUL Terzis this week received the news he'd been hoping for.
The Centurions' medical experts are confident that half-back pair John Duffy and Bobbie Goulding will be 100 per cent for Leigh's play-off Major Semi-Final on Sunday week.
Leigh lost Duffy and Goulding within three first half minutes at Huddersfield last Sunday - both being rushed off to hospital. Duffy has a badly bruised hip and back while Goulding was seriously concussed.
But the good news is that both are recovering satisfactorily and Terzis is confident that both will play in the showdown game at Hilton Park against either Batley or Oldham.
"John's well into his recovery programme now and is making good progress," says Terzis. "Bobbie needs to take things easy for a few days but he should be ready to resume training towards the end of next week."
With Leigh's two main playmakers off the field, Leigh struggled against the Giants but their chances of reaching the Grand Final will be significantly increased if they can get Duffy and Goulding back on the field.
Their chances will also improve with skipper Adam Bristow available for the semi-final after suspension. The only likely absentee will be Vila Matuatia who must sit out the second of his two game ban.
The Centurions have sent a 'thank you' message to the estimated 2500 fans who made the trip to Huddersfield.
Chairman Mike Nolan says: "They were magnificent. It makes you proud to see so many fans make the trip to cheer on the team. All the lads said that the fans gave them tremendous support during the game."
Co-skipper Paul Rowley added: "Unfortunately we did not come away with the right result but as captain I just want to thank all the fans for getting behind us - you were brilliant. Our aim now is to go to the final in a more determined mood and win it for the great fans of Leigh."
The Centurions Academy team face Dewsbury in the Under 19s Grand Final tomorrow. The game will be staged at Hilton Park with a 2.30pm kick off. Admission prices are £4 and £2. A souvenir programme will also be on sale.
