A FAMILY of seven had to be evacuated from their Leigh home last night after a bedroom fire.
The fire, which started at 7pm in a bedroom at the home in Abbey Lane, Westleigh, shared by two 14-year-old girls, is thought to have been caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette.
Bunkbeds, curtains and furniture in the room were completely destroyed and the rest of the upstairs of the house was left smoke-logged. No one was injured.
