TRAVELLERS who set up home on a store car park have moved again.
The caravans have visited several East Lancashire sites in the past couple of weeks, including Nelson, Barrow and Burnley.
They set up home on the car park of TK Maxx in Church Street for two days, until Saturday, and are now believed to have moved to a site off Liverpool Road.
Rubbish was left strewn across the TK Maxx car park --dozens of torn bin bags littered the site.
Council officers in Nelson have only just completed a clean-up operation at two sites in Carr Road -- which is believed to have cost the taxpayer £3,000.
Rubbish strewn across the Nelson and Clitheroe sites has now been cleared, public toilets were cleaned and wooden fence posts, which had been torn from the ground, replaced.
TK Maxx legal representatives have been left to deal with the matter, according to assistant manager Paul Spence.
He said: "A lot of our car parking spaces were taken up by the caravans so this will have affected our trade.
"Saturday is our busiest day and, fortunately, by this time quite a lot of the caravans had moved off.
"It is a relief that they are now going because people were having trouble parking."
A member of the group of travellers has said in the past that they intend to return to their native Ireland, but so far have remained in East Lancashire.
