BURNLEY'S DIY school is to undergo an OFSTED school inspection to ensure that the children are being educated to the government's standards.
An exact date has not been given for the inspection but the parents have welcomed it with open arms.
Parent Lisa Newton, 31, Radnor Avenue, Burnley, said they were doing everything in their power to make sure they were doing things correctly.
The part-time nursery nurse, whose 11-year-old son Daniel was refused places at Ivy Bank, Gawthorpe and Habergham, said: "At least with the inspection it shows that we haven't been forgotten. The last school like us was not checked out once.
"We are not afraid to be inspected because we know we have been trying our best to make sure things are being done properly.
"The teachers have been properly checked out and we believe we are teaching the right things.
"We have bought various school books and down-loaded work sheets from the internet. At least with all the children being together in a group they are getting a similar kind of interaction as what they would get at school."
"We try to make sure that at any one time there are at least two parents keeping a watch over the children, which is hard but it has got to be done for our children's sake."
The parents have been told by a representative for Education Other Than at School (EOTAS) that the school will be subject to The Office For Standards in Education inspection at The Enterprise Centre, Rossendale Road, Burnley.
They have only been at the school for two weeks but the parents say the children are getting on well.
Lisa added: "There are some children who need more help than others so we have identified this and do our best to make sure they all get help with the things they struggle with."
The families have had various meetings with councillors and education bosses but a solution has still not been found.
Lancashire County Council has already said that the school would be allowed to continue if it met education standards.
The school is still in need of funds and are looking for more teachers or teaching assistants to volunteer some spare time.
If anybody can help they are asked to contact Lisa on 0778 6348764.
